(Early on the series came under fire Lizzie’s apparent slut-shaming of Lydia, and Lizzie’s treatment of Lydia and her decisions has since become integral to the show’s plot and character development. Whether or not they intended to go that direction from the beginning, the result has been really thought-provoking - in the tradition of the best adaptations, the Lizzie Bennet Diaries has approached the book thoughtfully and faithfully, and updated the source material with its own, modern twist.)
